About

After suffering from the ravages of depression, Bipolar, anxiety and an internal loneliness for many years, i have decided to share my journey with you, and just maybe, in doing so i will find out a little bit more about me. Β I will be sharing my thoughts on depression and my personal experiences. I will also try to throw in a bit of light and cheer every now and then – balance is the spice of life, right?

Thanks for dropping by. We’re not out to save the world here – just to share views, thoughts, ideas and worries in a hassle-free and judgement-free environment. Welcome. Grab a cup of your favourite brew, take a deep breath and prepare to share my world. If it helps you then it’s been worthwhile. It will help me regardless, so thanks for sharing the journey.

Feelings are on display – along with bad spelling, terrible grammar and awful formatting. If you are looking for all of those, please Google “English like what the Queen says”.

I am so thankful for your blog! I have dealing with depression for years in silence. I applaud you for writing courageously in a positive way about a topic that people think should be hidden and private. Well, if we were all as honest as you, we would realize that so so so many of us are dealing with mental illness. I’ve wanted to blog about it, but mine would have been a dark blog. lol Good for you for putting all of your cards on the table and daring readers to accept you as you are: human. You inspire me!

  4. Hi Kelly. Thanks for checking out my blog!
At times you will come across a dark post here and there..*laughing*
But I will endeavor to keep as positive as one can, about dealing with depression.Paula xx

  26. Hi, I’ve suffered a lifetime of Obsessive Compulsive and Bipolar Disorders. I have also attempted suicide. My mental condition cost me my first marriage and has caused difficulties with subsequent relationships. For the past twenty-five years I’ve been on medication. Happily, I am now able to cope with most everyday situations, although I have the occasional flare-ups, where everything seems to be beyond my control.

Thanks for creating this blog and for being so open with your own problems. It makes it much easier for others to write about theirs.

    Cheers,
    Dennis

    • Hi Dennis. I felt writing about such a subject I had to be as honest and upfront as I could be. Depression is pretty ugly so there’s no point in saying it doesn’t exist and lets all hold hands and just skip around. LMAO
I have mild OCD, Bipolar 2,BPD Anxiety and Mood Disorder. So funny, I had to stop and think if that was all? Lol I laugh at my self a try not to take things too seriously or to heart anymore. Life is way happier this way. The only medication I will take these days is the Seroquel. I know I need this and it makes my life much healthier. I know how you feel. But, I won’t let my disorders define me as a person. We are more than a label and have a lot to offer the community. Sadly the stigma around mental illness is still there. Yes it has improved over the years, but we still have a long way to go. I hug you and thank you for your honesty. Paula xxxx

  27. I look forward to following you. I love your style.. I agree the grammar police need to stay away.. I hate when they show up on my blog with all their pointers I could care less about. We are here for support and tell a story of our lives and mental illness. Blog on and have a great weekend. Glad i found your blog.

  35. Hi Paula! Amazing. Simply amazing. How awesome of you to have this blog and I am sure you are helping many people to love themselves, be honest with themselves, and just truly live life. Depression does exist but it’s the strength that you have and things like your beautiful smile that keep people going. Keep up the great work Paula, and most of all keep smiling!! πŸ˜€
    Love, Daniel

    • Hey Daniel, Thanks for stopping by my blog and for all the wonderful things you just said about me! πŸ™‚ That smile is smiling at you right now! πŸ™‚
It’s not the greatest subject in the world to talk about, but it’s an important one for those that feel alone. We all need hope and inspiration and blogging has given me both. People like you with your kind words are just beautiful. Have a great week, hugs Paula xxxxx

Thank you for your comment on my ‘about’ section. I also suffer with depression, anxiety & panic attacks, I struggle to find the motivation to do lots of things, including keeping a blog going & often scrap posts because I think no-one will be interested in reading it, I’m hoping I can keep this new one gooing.

  38. Hi Paula,

  44. I accidently stubble upon your blog, and must say I’m quite glad it happen. We share many of the same issues, I start writing my blog because of personal failures, depression and anxiety and wanting to document them and see if I could finally beat them.
Best of luck to both of us
